3. OPERATING PROCEDURE |
3.1) Author(s) submit the research paper(s) through the on-line system of the journal or email to the Chief Editor / Editor / Publication Officer. Before submission of paper the author(s) require(s) to follow the approved instructions for authors and must sign a declaration that the material presented is original, not submitted or under consideration elsewhere and not plagiarized.
3.2) It is responsibility of each author, including the co-authors, to ensure that the paper submitted for publication should attain the highest ethical standards with respect to plagiarism.
3.3) Author(s) will submit processing and scanning fees through bank challan / pay order etc in the name of Director Finance, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology.
3.4) The Publication officer will send request on Scanning Request Form along with a copy of paid challan to Focal Person for Anti-Plagiarism Services of the University to scan it for finding authenticity of the research paper through HEC approved software for plagiarism.
3.5) Focal Person will scan the research paper through HEC approved software and submit softcopy of the whole scanning report, along with duly signed and stamped hard copy of first page of scanning report containing similarity index to the Publication Officer.
3.6) As per scanning report of the focal person, if the similarity index of plagiarized text of the research paper is found beyond the acceptable limits (Acceptable Similarity Index for Turnitin Software is less than or equal to 19% subject to no any link contains similarity greater than 5%), the publication officer will return the same to the corresponding author for modification/refinement. It should be noted that the database of the software as well as internet material updates time to time, therefore similarity index may fluctuate with number of times the document is scanned.
3.7) After re-submission, the same process will be followed as per clause 3.5 and 3.6 till the paper is found free of plagiarism.
3.8) Chief Editor / Editor will send the authentic paper to the two experts for their technical comments and evaluation. This Journal follows Double Blind Peer Review Process.
3.9) If comments / evaluation of both experts are satisfactory, the paper is submitted to the Editorial Board for possible acceptance. Otherwise, it is returned back to the author(s) for modification as suggested by the expert(s).
3.10) The revised paper submitted by the author(s) is again sent to the same experts for final comments, if required.
3.11) The final comments of the experts/reviewers are submitted to the Editorial Board for final decision.
3.12) Publication Officer issues Acceptance or rejection letter.
3.13) The Editorial Board selects papers among the approved ones for publication in the upcoming issue.
